Position Summary:
The Business Operations Manager is responsible for financial and business process support for the Office of the President, Internal Auditing Services, the Ombuds Office, the Office of Civil Rights and Investigations, the Office of General Counsel and ancillary support to other reporting units to the president such as the chief diversity officer's units and communications. The responsibilities are handled with a high level of discretion and awareness of privileged information and are completed with a professional demeanor and manner that promotes a positive image for an office with a high level of reputational risk.
Duties will include:
  • Ensuring financial integrity and proper stewardship of President's Area funds
  • Managing fund balances and expenditures, forecasts budget scenarios
  • Advising the Chief of Staff and President on funding requests
  • Provides administrative coordination related to personnel actions requiring the President's review and decision as the chief executive for the institution
  • Managing the process for annual performance reviews for the President's direct reports
  • Coordinating logistics and providing administrative support for executive and senior-level searches
  • Serving as Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Coordinator for units reporting directly to the President
  • Leading and participating in the completion of special projects requiring a high degree of accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of experience supporting business operations.
  • Three years of financial management.
  • Experience managing or utilizing spreadsheet software and accounting systems to store, analyze, and report information about finances.
  • Analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives and developing recommendations for administrative decision making.
  • Handling a variety of projects simultaneously that require a high degree of attention to administrative details.
  • Working in an environment that required maintaining confidentiality of information.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree in finance, accounting, business or public administration or related field.
Experience:
  • Working in a senior administrative office environment.
  • Proficiency with University of Idaho policies, procedures.
  • Proficiency with BANNER finance system.
  • Developing, organizing, and implementing administrative projects.
